When will the Hollandview Trail Retirement Residence be opening?

Can I use my Veteran’s Affairs benefits to pay for some of the services?

We will break out the cost of services covered by VA such as housekeeping and laundry and you can submit these to VA for redemption. You should check with your Veteran’s councillor and we will help get them the information they require. Click on the link below to go to the Veterans Affairs Canada site.

Will I be able to have family and friends in for a meal or visit?

Absolutely. In fact, once they taste the gourmet meals and enjoy our pub and other amenities, they'll probably be asking you how soon they can come back! These are your guests, and this is your home. Have your bridge club in, invite the family for supper, enjoy a cup of coffee in the bistro with your friends. Entertain in the privacy of your suite or make use of the gardens and other relaxing common areas. We even have a private dining room that you can use for special celebrations or just to bring the group together.

Do I have to sit at the same table for each meal?

No, we encourage people to circulate and meet as many community members as possible. We have several larger communal tables as well where 6-10 people can sit and enjoy time together and we have smaller tables as well. There will be open spans of time for each meal time, not specific times or sittings that one must be there for. So you come to the dining room at your leisure anytime in that span for each meal.

Can I bring my own furniture?

Certainly. The suites are very generous in size, so you'll be able to choose many of your pieces to bring to your new suite. As you look at the suite layouts, notice all the room for storage and the walk-in closets. We even have some lockers on the lower level available for the use of our residents, providing you with the option of still more storage.

Do I need a referral to be able to rent a suite at Hollandview Trail?

No, you don't need a referral. You can contact us directly and decide for yourself what type of suite you want - anything from a studio or one-bedroom to a one-bedroom-plus-den or a two-bedroom suite. There are many different layouts and sizes, and we feel confident you'll find one that's just what you've been looking for.
